There are a few things you should know about me as an artist : first, every surface I work on is a custom-created surface, not store bought, and that’s important because the surface becomes as much a part of the overall work as the mediums which are laid atop it; second, my work spans from the intuitive figurative to the saturated color field genre and into illustration, contemporary mixed media collage and printing. Third, and chief among these things, my work is best captured by a term Hildegard of Bingen coined called “viriditas:” that is, the symbolical aspects of the spiritual and material world that offer the experience of freshness, fecundity, vitality, and lushness. My work may be described as having the spirit of classicism but with a contemporary execution and while some works may be more psychological, and others more lyrical, some simple and some more complex, and still others animated with rich colour as another series is grounded in the dark luminosity of charcoal, all my works have the same underlying principal of a certain understanding of the good, the beautiful, and the true. This is what they will bring into your space and spirit.
